How Pricing Works

Our pork is priced by hanging weight, which is the weight of the hog after harvest and before it is cut into individual packages.

Once your pork has been professionally cut, wrapped, and frozen, the average customer pays about $7.90 per pound of packaged pork, including both our farm price and the processor's fees.

Most customers can expect an all-in cost of approximately $7.60–$8.25 per pound, depending on the size of the hog and the cutting instructions you choose.

While the amount of packaged pork will be less than the hanging weight due to the removal of bones, excess fat, and moisture during processing, buying a whole hog remains one of the most economical ways to stock your freezer with premium Berkshire pork.

How It Works

Step 1 – Reserve Your Hog

Place your $200 non-refundable deposit to reserve one of our limited whole hogs.

Step 2 – We Raise Your Pig

Your hog is born and raised on our farm in Morris, Illinois. Our pigs enjoy access to pasture and are fed a locally milled, non-GMO feed to promote healthy growth and exceptional flavor.

Step 3 – Final Payment

On processing day, we'll invoice you for the remaining balance based on the hog's hanging weight, less your deposit.

Step 4 – Customize Your Cuts

After your final payment has been received, we'll provide the processor's contact information. They'll guide you through all of your cutting options, including:

  • Bacon
  • Ham
  • Pork chops
  • Roasts
  • Spare ribs
  • Sausage
  • Smoked products
  • Packaging preferences

This allows you to receive your pork exactly the way your family wants it.

Step 5 – Pick Up Your Pork

Once processing is complete, you'll pick up your frozen pork directly from Bittner's Meat Co. (Eureka Locker) and pay the processing fees due at that time.

Freezer Space

A whole hog typically requires 6–8 cubic feet of freezer space, depending on the size of the animal and your selected cuts.
